Agnes Monica - I'll Light A Candle (Featuring Keith Martin)

Agnes Monica is Indonesian pop singer. In 2006 she surprised Indonesia with the most expensive video ever made by an Indonesian artist, but it showed that she was as professional as international standards requiered, and it seems she is ready for the international stage.

She has anounced that in 2007 and 2008 she will be touring outside Indonesia, even in Europe and the USA.

Will the world be ready for Agnes?!

By the way, here it is, song from her latest album duet with Keith Martin, the song is "I'll Light A Candle", enjoy.

Lee Ryan - Lee Ryan

If one considers him at all, it's easy to forget that Lee Ryan is still just 22 years of age. One quarter of Blue, one of the biggest boy bands of the last decade, Ryan's looks have won him a contract as a clothes horse for Dolce & Gabbana and admiring glances from girls of a certain age, Elton John and Robbie Williams. It is the latter's career since leaving Take That that Ryan perhaps hopes to mimic with this, his solo debut.

He has the looks and, like Boyzone's Ronan Keating, he possesses the most distinctive voice of his ensemble. So far, so good - but what about the songs?

The eponymously titled record showcases vocal prowess but is not suggestive of a distinctive artistic voice being given free rein. Amongst the credited writers are Martin Harrington and Ash Howes, who between them have helped Natalie Imbruglia and Dido's fledgling careers. Their songs are a mixed bag of made-to-order drivetime ditties and flaccid shelf filler.

Single Army Of Lovers belongs in the former category. Completely avoiding the kind of cringeworthy lyrics one might have expected of such a record, it displays Ryan's undoubted talent for expressing emotion over some really rather sweet lyrics and is then gone in a flash. Turn Your Car Around is one of several songs that call to mind Ms Imbruglia - guitars and synths combining to make a sound that's just the wrong side of cool. But again, Ryan's voice is the best thing about it.

Miss My Everything - musically the most interesting track on the album - suggests a certain nod and wink in the direction of Marvin Gaye, while Daydreamer starts off sounding like The Spice Girls' Viva Forever before heading off to warble about "dreamtime".

Plumstead's favourite son acquits himself further with Real Love, a vaguely soulful slice of catchy pop, but Parking is like Daniel Bedingfield in one of his ghastly overblown ballad moments, Wish The Whole World Knew musically just doesn't work and Close To You is (of course) not a patch of The Cure's classic of the same title. But that's okay - Ryan wasn't even in kindergarten when Robert Smith's gang were making that whole dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards look the epitome of cool.

And Lee Ryan isn't, even if he does include lyrics about skydiving in the Imbrugliaesque Jump (surely a single, with Ryan's most concerted attempt at a Ronan-like growl). The record as a whole has been produced to death, with any genuine emotion eradicated and the space it occupied polished down and sprayed with designer label perfume. In consequence, despite some strong moments - it's worth holding on for In The Morning - this solo debut is unlikely to break Ryan beyond Blue's traditional catchment. Unlike Robbie and Ronan, thus far Ryan hasn't taken the solo opportunity to make a definitive musical break and reinvent himself, leaving his vocal histrionics as the staple in an otherwise undernourishing meal.

If Ryan is to exist beyond the land of tabloid fodder and costume modelling and forge a convincing career as an artist he'll need to stamp his authority on his next record and eschew myriad writers in favour of highlighting his own vision. Until then, the jury's out, but at least he has time on his side to get it right.

Mike Leon Grosch - Wonderful Tonight

Mike Leon Grosch (born November 11, 1976 in Wuppertal) is a German singer, who came to fame as the runner-up of the third season of the television show Deutschland sucht den SuperStar, the German version of Pop Idol.

Autumn 2005 Mike worked as a cell phone seller. At that time he took leave from his job to participate in the third season of Deutschland sucht den SuperStar (where he also became romantically involved with co-competitor Vanessa Jean Dedmon). Because of his strong, husky voice and a few similarities to British singer Seal Grosch became an early favourite with the judges and the audience, who enabled him to sing against competitor Tobias Regner during the final show. However, in the end he lost by vote scoring 45% against Regner.

Get Ready! - Diep

Belgian boy band put together at the end of 1995, which had massive success in its home country. They released 5 albums and 1 "Best Of"-compilation between 1996 and 2002, of which the first three albums ("Get Ready!", "Go For It" & "Apollo") contained Dutch/French songs only. They started out with tracks having that typical Euro Dance sound of the nineties but were trying out Pop Rock tunes by the 3rd album. The fourth album ("The Mission") featured English songs and was supposed to help their international breakthrough. They even had an Asian promotional tour that included Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. There was a break-up from 2000 'till 2002 before the most recent album - called "Incognito" - was released. However, the public's interest was no longer the same compared to the early years. Afterwards each band member went his own way. Some of them tried their luck as solo artist but all four of them eventually ended up doing a job outside of the music business. Apparently they have planned a reunion in 2006 and are currently working on their new material.

Leigh Nash - Blue On Blue

Blue On Blue was the first debut album from ex-vocalist Sixpence None The Richer, Leigh Nash.

The album met mostly positive reviews upon release. It was received very well by Christian music reviewers. Nash's vocals, lyrics and music direction were lauded. Blue On Blue was criticized mainly because of the songs not being as immediately appealing as the ones released by Sixpence None the Richer. Collaborators on this album are Matt Slocum, Sixpence Bandmate and the songwriting/production team of Rick Nowels and Billy Steinberg.

Commercially, the album has not performed well. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that the album remains unknown among the masses due to the lack of promotion and airplay. So far, it managed to reach #25 in the Billboard Top Heatseekers charts.
