Eminem "Turns Down Madonna" News

Most artists would jump at the chance to work with Madonna, but not Eminem. The rapper passed on a potential collaboration with the Material Girl.

“I wanted to work with Eminem. I don’t think he wanted to work with me,” she told Rolling Stone in the magazine’s current issue. “Maybe he’s shy.”

When asked who she listens to today, she cited her collaborators Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. “I really, genuinely like the music of Timbaland and Justin,” adding that her son Rocco “likes anything that I did with Timbaland.”

The Queen of Pop also praised Timberlake’s songwriting skills. “Justin is a brilliant songwriter. I mean, ‘What Goes Around…Comes Around’? Brilliant.”

I thought this was some bull*hit when I first read it and thought it was some rumors going around but eventually after some further research it was quite true. In a way Im quite astonished that Eminem turned it down instead of taking up on the opportunity and exploring something new.

Soulja Boy "Arrested In Georgia" News

Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy has been arrested in Henry County following an incident at a video shoot.
The arrest happened on Wednesday (October 7) at 9PM, when officers responded to a call that there were upwards of 40 people mingling at an abandoned house in Stockbridge, GA.

“There were approximately 40 people gathered behind the dark house," Sergeant Rene Swanson detailed in her police report. "Half of the people fled the area as the arriving officer called for back-up.”

Soulja Boy (DeAndre Way) was one of the alleged individuals to flee the scene. In a search of the left behind vehicles, police found a 9MM handgun in the glove compartment of a white Lexus.

Although authorities have not given specifics, police stated the weapon was tied to Soulja Boy.

Upon his return, the rapper gave a statement explaining that his entourage was gathered at the home for a video shoot. Because of the gun, he was still arrested on obstruction charges.

“A white Land Rover at the scene was identified as belonging to Way, who had fled the scene," Swanson stated. "He returned a short time later, and [was] arrested for obstruction."

A second man, Latice Wayne Grier, was arrested on second degree forgery charges when a search of his Dodge Charger yielded eight counterfeit $100 bills.

Soulja Boy was released yesterday (October 8) on a $550 bond, and will answer his misdemeanor charge in State Court. Due to the more serious forgery charge, Grier posted a $10,050 bond and will respond to his case in Superior Court.

At press time, Soulja boy could not be reached for comment.

I know most of you are probably Soulja Boy HATERS, so you might enjoy this post! So have a read, but I LOL @ this I reckon Soulja Boy should of drove away in his car instead of just dashing for it.

Fat Joe Calls Out Slacking Emcees, "A Lot Of Rappers Can't Make Hooks" News

Fat Joe recently spoke out about the lack of quality albums in today's rap climate and said a surprising number of rappers are incapable of making hooks for their records.

Joey Crack also said he places a strong emphasis on making all of his music sound like "hit" records.

"A lot of albums I hear these days sound like mixtapes," Joey said in an interview. "Believe it or not, a lot of rappers can't make hooks. So it's not a coincidence when you hear your favorite rapper with sampled hooks and they just don't know how to make it. It's a lot of albums that sound like f*cking mixtapes. So when I make an album, I just try to make big records and big songs and make 'em huge to where I'm just trying to make every record a hit. Even if I'm making an underground hardcore record, I'll try to put a real strong hook so it can still feel real big. I hate getting albums and it sounds like one big mixtape." (On Smash)

Fat Joe recently updated fans on his delayed J.O.S.E. Part II album and said he is considering a name change for the follow-up project.

"We worked very hard for this, October 6th, my album Jealous Ones Still Envy Part Two," Joe revealed in an interview last week. "Lil Kim on that album, Weezy on that album, Akon, T-Pain, Fabolous, Raekwon, I ain't even play that Raekwon The Chef yet. It's called 'Ice Cream Man.' Get at me...I like to think I'm better than ever...We talking about a future album, one after this. Probably no more Fat Joe, probably Fat Gangsta is coming. 360. So we just gonna go in so hard, body on that thing like just killing people. The whole joint is gonna be straight violence on that joint right there, so, look out for that. That's the Fat Gangsta, the return of the Fat Gangsta, 'Flow Joe, fat n*gga with the shotty...'" (Invasion Radio)

The Terror Squad leader's J.O.S.E. 2 was initially slated to drop on May 19th.

"I got bad news for everyone," Joe wrote on Twitter unmodified. "My album got pushed back. Monday I will have the new date!!!!!! I'm just as upset as ya!!!! CRACK!!! We pushed my album back my brother, sample clearance, you know. The album is coming late June." (Fat Joe's Twitter)

He previously spoke about the album's motivation with radio personality Jenny Boom Boom.

"The album will be in stores April 7," he promised in an interview last February. "I've just been making that hit mania...It just feels big. My first album Jealous Ones Still Envy was my biggest album and I haven't did no album to this day that I felt I made music as big as that. So I just went hit mania on this one right here. It feels great." (Jenny Boom Boom)

I'm astonished he even said that, especially with 50 cent dissing him I thought he would of learnt his lesson by now, but NOO.. he had to be a smart ass and diss other unexperienced rappers.

Diddy "Leaves Warner / Atlantic Records" News

Fans eagerly anticipating “Last Train to Paris,” the new album from Sean “Diddy Combs scheduled for release this month will have to wait a little longer. Diddy has confirmed plans to leave his current label Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records where he has resided for the last five years and released 2006’s “Press Play” which sold 703,000 units to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company," Diddy said in a statement to Billboard Magazine.

Reports have Diddy set to sign with Interscope Records which is part of Universal and home to acts such as Lady GaGa, 50 Cent and Eminem.

The joint venture for Bad Boy's current roster and catalog with WMG will remain in place.

That sucked bad that we have to wait longer for Diddy's next album as I was excited for it coming out next month or so, but I guess we will also see what will happen with Diddy moving to Interscope I guess it will be pretty crazy with 50,Eminem,Lady Gaga etc on roster.

Rosa Acosta "Not Engaged To Soulja Boy, Model’s Rep Clarifies Rumors" News

With photos of the alleged couple surfacing online, rumors began swirling that video vixen Rosa Acosta is engaged to teen sensation Soulja Boy,

A Representative for the model, who has appeared in videos for Drake (“Successful,” “Best I Ever Had”), 50 Cent (“OK, You’re Right”) and Jamie Foxx (“Blame It”), has denied the reports.

“Rosa is in LA filming the Chris Brown video,” the rep wrote in an email to XXLMag.com. “Souja Boy took her and four other models to dinner. The picture was taken for the behind the scenes section of Rosa’s website. The ring she has on is a ring her mother gave her a long time ago. Rosa being engaged is false.”

Soulja Boy reportedly appears in the Chris Brown video, as he collaborated with the singer on the track.

I find this pretty crazy, when people say don't trust what you see online.

Diddy "We Still Know How To Make Hits" News

Diddy recently spoke on the factors behind keeping his Bad Boy Records successful after nearly two decades and why artists like he and Jay-Z remain relevant as they approach their 40th birthdays.

Diddy also pointed out what it takes for an artist to remain popular within an evolving music industry.

"With me and Jay, you gonna have to get down or lay down anyway," Diddy said in an interview. "There's other rules to this game that you gonna have to abide by. At the end of the day, we understand. We understand the importance of telling the truth. If you're just getting into the game, you're probably telling a lie anyway because you're telling somebody else's game. If we still here, we're still here because we're telling the truth. Number two, we have relationships, and number three, we still know how to make hit records. That's what this thing is about. You could be five years old, 70 years old -- you make a hit record, it's gonna stand the test of time. It's something the game has to get used to." (MTV)

Speaking at the Core DJ's conference in Atlanta last April, Diddy stressed Bad Boy's relevance.

"Bad Boy is important," he explained in a video. "We have not sold out and all this stuff, we trying to do these types of records over here and those, we make Bad Boy records. And that's preserving your brand, and the thing that's bigger than Bad Boy is we are the last label standing. No disrespect to the other labels, but there is no Roc-A-Fella. There is no Ruff Ryders, there is no Death Row. So if this label doesn't make it, this is the last of the labels and that means nobody else can come out with a label. Then it just turns into production deals." (YouTube)

Fabolous co-signed Jay-Z's lyrical talent and overall rhyming skills earlier this month as he heads into his 40th birthday this December.

"What's crazy is, I saw the H-O-V lane line 4 yrs but couldn't use it cuz my name aint Hov..," Fab wrote Sunday (September 6) morning. "Lol'H-O-V, got my own lane already' finally...Jay, at 40 is still @ da top of the game lyrically. Not many rappers r able 2 say that, ever. Support real hip hop, Blueprint 3 & Loso's Way..." (Fabolous' Twitter)

Diddy's company has helped oversee the careers of many urban superstars.

The biggest hip-hop impresario of the mid-'90s, Sean Combs -- known as Puff Daddy both here and in the world of rap until his professional name change to P. Diddy, then just Diddy -- created a multi-million-dollar industry around Bad Boy Entertainment, with recordings by the Notorious B.I.G, Craig Mack, Faith Evans, 112 and Total all produced and masterminded by Combs himself. (All Music)

Don't know what you guys think about this, but yea I thought it was quite interesting Diddy's label one of the last standing and would you consider Diddy a urban superstar?

Elliott Yamin - Fight For Love [Streaming] [News]

"Fight For Love," the first single from Elliott Yamin's new album of the same name (May 5), has been revealed. The forthcoming album features co-writing from the former American Idol contestant (3rd place, season 5) and heavy-hitting producers Jermaine Dupri, Stargate, Midi Mafia and more.

The single will be available via digital retail on March 10.

Yamin was the lovable underdog of American Idol's season five. He was called a "vocal masterclass" by Simon Cowell, and delivered what Entertainment Weekly called one of the top three best American Idol performances ever. Yamin entered the competition as a drugstore clerk with no vocal training, 90 percent hearing loss in his right ear and managing a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes that required he wear an insulin pump. In the end, he finished 3rd place on the highest-rated season to date, right behind Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee.

Yamin's self-titled debut album was released in 2007 on Hickory Records and is the highest independent debut by a new artist in the history of the Billboard charts - reaching #1 on the Independent Album chart, #2 on the R&B chart and #3 on the Top 200 chart, in addition to going gold in the US and Japan.

Soulja Boy - Launches Animated Web Series [News] [Video]

Los Angeles, CA – On heels of releasing his sophomore album “iSouljaBoyTellem”, platinum recording artist Soulja Boy Tell Em will launch an animated web series via his latest video for the song “Soulja Boy Tell Em”. The video and the series, which will follow in late January, will combine live action and animation.

After initially being discovered and making a name for himself through his YouTube video for the song “Crank That (Soulja Boy)”, which was #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for seven weeks, it was only a matter of time until the artist decided to return to the internet with something groundbreaking.

"I always wanted to do a cartoon since I was younger,” said Soulja Boy Tell Em from his hometown of Batesville, Mississippi. “I am excited because I think that the subject matter will give my fans what they would expect from me. “

The show titled “Soulja Boy Tell Em: The Animated Series” follows an animated Soulja who is in midst of enjoying his hip-hop superstardom when he’s suddenly forced to return to High School. Soulja, with the help of his animated friends, is continually doing whatever he can to get out of his daily school routine. The school’s principal, played by a live action Alfonso Ribiero (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) is always hot on Soulja’s heels to keep him in line.

Rather than bringing this series to a traditional network, Soulja partnered with his label Collipark/Interscope Records and will premiere the series via his website www.souljaboytellem.com.

“Soulja Boy is one of the most charismatic artists of his generation,” said Brian Washington, Marketing Director for Interscope Records. “His ability to speak to his fans and, just as importantly, the way in which he does so, makes him such an innovator in how music and entertainment is consumed and discovered today.”

Additionally, Buddy System Studios, who previously worked on Robot Chicken, are tackling the animation meets live action production duties for the series.
